Their Vision
Founded in 1961, Villa Esperanza Services provides love, care, and hope for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families. Villa has expanded its services to reach 700 participants and families from 61 communities annually. Facing program capacity limitations due to space constraints and outdated facilities for therapy and recreation, as well as a disjointed building layout, Villa’s leadership initiated a major capital campaign in 2012 to expand and modernize its campus. NGA was brought on to conduct a feasibility study.
Our Strategy
After completing the feasibility study, NGA provided campaign counsel for Phase I of the “Hope Moves Forward” campaign. With a goal of $6.25 million, Villa raised $7.5 million. NGA extended its services to include planning and campaign counsel for Phase II, which also exceeded its $9 million, raising $9.7 million.
Following the success of the “Hope Moves Forward” campaign, Villa engaged NGA to help shape its upcoming strategic plan. NGA collaborated with Villa’s board and staff to establish three-year strategic goals and objectives related to programs, staffing, infrastructure, and community awareness. NGA also facilitated a process to monitor and track strategies in the organization’s annual work plans.
NGA has been a trusted advisor to Villa Esperanza Services for the past 12 years.
Success Together
Phase I of Villa’s “Hope Moves Forward” campaign created the Villa School, which welcomed students into their new classrooms in 2018. Groundbreaking for Phase II took place in May 2023 and will create three additional classrooms, an occupational therapy clinic, as well as a physical education and therapeutic center.
A well-defined strategic plan has enabled Villa to streamline employee recruitment processes and improve onboarding and training activities, leading to stronger employee retention. Through the strategic plan, Villa is prepared to maximize the use of its existing and new facilities and ensure that its programming remains responsive the evolving needs of its clients and shifting trends in the I/DD field.
