Their Vision
Chaminade College Preparatory in Chatsworth, CA engaged Netzel Grigsby Associates to facilitate three planning processes to position the school for the future. The first step was to guide the school in developing its strategic plan. The second was to develop a plan that would maximize fundraising productivity and growth in major gift support from individuals, and the third was a campaign planning study to assess goal potential and develop a capital campaign strategy to advance the school’s master facilities plan. It was vital to engage the entire school community, staff, the board, alumni and volunteers in all three processes to be successful.
Our Strategy
Netzel Grigsby Associates worked closely with school leadership to identify stakeholders who needed to be engaged in each step. Both internal and external assessments were conducted, collecting and analyzing organizational data, conducting surveys, creating focus groups, and conducting individual interviews. Netzel Grigsby Associates evaluated all of the internal and external data collected in the context of experience and best practices by successful independent schools and other thriving nonprofit organizations. Observations based on data analysis, strategic recommendations and action steps at each stage were presented to the Chaminade leadership and refined to incorporate their suggestions and feedback.
Success Together
Today, the board is fully engaged in the school’s vision for the future. The Advancement Department at Chaminade College Preparatory is working more efficiently and has successfully positioned themselves to raise even more necessary resources for their campus, and a campaign for the first phase of the school’s master plan—conducted almost entirely during the recent pandemic—is at 80% of goal! With the steadfast guidance of Netzel Grigsby Associates, the campaign will begin the public phase of fundraising in the fall of 2022 as the school celebrates its first 70th anniversary.
“We consider NGA a true partner in delivering on our mission as they have walked with us through each of the critical phases of our advancement plan from our strategic planning process, campaign feasibility study to the execution of our capital campaign. I am grateful for their team’s commitment to getting to know our school, our mission and our stakeholders and constituents as if it were their own.”
