The Opportunity
NGA is seeking a Vice President who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and moving our clients toward financial sustainability. NGA is seeking a member of our team who will lead and support client projects, represent NGA to prospective clients, and combine hands-on client leadership with independent project ownership and close collaboration with NGA colleagues.

You will spend meaningful time working face to face and on site with clients, and use your home office to plan, prepare, communicate, and keep projects moving. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a team member and project lead on client engagements, coordinating effectively with NGA colleagues and client leadership.
- Provide project management, counsel, and training services to assigned nonprofit clients.
- Lead day-to-day, on-site activity for client projects and maintain productive working relationships with staff, board members, and key volunteers.
- Plan projects, prepare materials, and guide client staff and volunteers through implementation and progress monitoring.
- Own deliverables, anticipate client needs, and hold yourself and the project team to high-quality standards.
- Learn and use NGA core business tools, adapt to client platforms, and use data and systems to support sound decisions.
- Support marketing to prospective clients by cultivating relationships.
- Reinforce NGA’s thought leadership in the sector through active and visible professional leadership at events, speaking engagements, and other opportunities.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; CFRE preferred.
- Nonprofit executive, development, or fundraising leadership experience required.
- An approachable, confident people person with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, stay organized, adapt to changing client needs, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Service as a visible expert in at least one sector of the nonprofit economy.
- Understanding of fundraising ethics and best practices; AFP membership preferred.
Reporting Relationship
The position reports to the Executive Vice President and Director of Staff Development.
Position Details
- Work Location: Regular travel to client locations throughout the Western United States is essential, including overnight travel when needed. Between client visits, work is performed from a required home office with a private workspace, dependable high-speed internet, phone and video-conferencing capability.
- Salary and Benefits: Guaranteed annual salary of $90,000 – $100,000+, based on experience and qualifications, plus full benefits.
- Work Schedule: Full time.
