W. Jay Grigsby, Principal & Chief Executive Officer
Jay Grigsby is principal and chief executive officer of Netzel Grigsby Associates. NGA partners with nonprofit organizations and institutions seeking to build capacity to advance their mission. With decades of experience in the field, Jay knows firsthand the dynamic role that nonprofits play in building strong communities and giving a vital voice to the people they serve. Under his leadership NGA has raised more than $3 billion for the nonprofit organizations that have selected the firm to lead their campaigns.
As a nonprofit consultant, Jay provides executive coaching, conducts campaign planning (feasibility) studies, and directs multi-million dollar capital, endowment and comprehensive campaigns for education, health care, social services and environmental organizations and institutions. His recent clients include Motion Picture & Television Fund ($350 million campaign), UCLA Fielding School of Public Health ($196 million), Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics ($26 million), California Hospital Medical Center ($50 million), Laguna Blanca School ($8.5 million), and Community Environmental Council ($15 million).
Jay provides pro bono trainings for professional associates, including the Ventura County Community Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, CenterLink, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He has served as a member of the board of directors for the Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter of AFP, and has also served on the faculty of the UCLA Extension Program on fundraising.
Jay joined the firm in 1996, after a successful career with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. As a nonprofit executive director, he was responsible for board and staff development, fiscal management, long-range strategic planning, facility and program development, and fundraising.
Jay received his Bachelor of Arts from California State University at Fullerton.
