Charles M. “Chaud” Richards, Senior Counsel
Chaud Richards is senior counsel at Netzel Grigsby Associates who works as a trail guide to large and small nonprofit organizations and institutions traveling a fundraising path that increases the capacity to impact their communities and constituents.
Chaud believes that the nonprofit sector is often the most nimble and responsive to emerging needs in our society, and that effective volunteer engagement is essential to the strongest outcomes in fund development and planning. Chaud blends more than a decade of experience as a nonprofit manager together with nearly 30 years of consulting services, and an active volunteer role on nonprofit boards of directors as a leader and donor, to provide a rich perspective and passion to each client engagement.
Chaud has helped The Commonwealth Club of California mount its first ever capital campaign and raise more than $28 million to build a “home for ideas” in San Francisco. Through his work with clients on compelling and essential capital projects, new facilities for Boys & Girls Clubs, arts centers, hospitals, YMCAs, schools, and religious centers have been realized, achieving goals from $1.5 million to more than $60 million.
Chaud holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Utah State University, and completed graduate studies in Art History at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
