As senior counsel with NETZEL GRIGSBY ASSOCIATES, INC., Mike brings more than 30 years of nonprofit executive level management experience. His expertise includes fiscal management, strategic planning, financial development, annual and capital campaign management, endowment development, board and volunteer development, human resource management, marketing and communications, program development, safety and risk management, community development, and public policy.

Mike served as president & CEO of the YMCA of Greater Whittier for 16 years, where he conducted two successful capital campaigns during his tenure. Before his CEO position in Whittier, Mike was the executive director at both the Culver-Palms YMCA and the Crescenta-Canada YMCA. In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mike served as public policy chair and a member of the executive committee for the State Alliance of California YMCAs. He is also past chairman of the Southern California YMCA Leaders Conference.

He has extensive experience in community volunteer and board leadership. He served as a board member of the Whittier City School District Educational Foundation and Whittier Hospital Medical Center, was past president of the Rotary Club of La Canada Flintridge and Rotary Club of Whittier, and chaired the Rotary Foundation in Whittier for 14 years. He currently serves on the board of Thru the Bible Radio Network and chairs the organizationís Pension Fund board of trustees. Mike is also a member of the Presidentís Circle at Biola University, where he has been a guest lecturer in their Small Business Management class.

Mike received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara as well as his Organizational Leader Certification from the YMCA of the USA.
