San Diego

A vice president with NETZEL GRIGSBY ASSOCIATES, Lisa has more than 25 years of experience in fund development, planning, and management on behalf of nonprofit organizations in all sectors. As a consultant, Lisa has provided both management and guidance to nonprofits in fundraising feasibility studies; capital, comprehensive, annual, and endowment campaigns; development assessments; strategic planning; and grants management. She also has provided counsel and leadership in board and staff development, donor cultivation and stewardship, and marketing and communications.

For five years, Lisa served as Director of Community Planning and Innovation for the Jewish Federation of San Diego County, where she oversaw $5 million in allocations annually to local, national, and international agencies and launched a capital campaign to build a high school in Israel. In this role, she was instrumental in the start-up of 18 community nonprofits serving youth, seniors, and those with limited income. She also led capacity building workshops for nonprofit organizations, planned interfaith relations initiatives, and developed several successful collaboratives with a range of corporate, public, and private stakeholders to improve community outcomes.

Prior to this, Lisa initiated and managed children’s health and safety programs during a 14-year tenure at Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center. There, she developed the first children’s hospital-based Pediatric Dental Residency Program in California, and worked with the Children’s Foundation to raise funds through private donations, events, grants, and the establishment of an endowment. She also represented the health center in community improvement initiatives.

A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Lisa holds an M.A. in Organizational Management and a B.A. from Scripps College of the Claremont Colleges. She is President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ San Diego Chapter, and past member of the KPBS Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of Hope Village San Diego-Chesed Home, and the Board of Directors of the San Dieguito High School Academy Foundation. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Speaker of the Year for the San Diego Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
